Sr. Manager/Assoc Director, Commercial Analytics

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Commercial Analytics will be responsible for creating, measuring, and tracking the key performance metrics for the TransCon portfolio. This person will be an integral partner to the business operations and the commercial teams. Key components to this role will include investigating, securing and interpreting data, updating forecasts, developing and monitoring KPIs, highlighting issues, and communicating findings to leadership. In addition, the analyst will be involved with testing and validating the effectiveness of existing and new commercial strategies and tactics and providing recommendations to optimize the effectiveness of the commercial organization.

The position will be based in Palo Alto and will report directly to the Vice President, Commercial Analytics.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner and work closely with Senior Leadership/Functional heads to understand their business reporting and analytics/KPI needs
  • Leverage anonymized patient data in conjunction with Rx, Sales, Reference, and other data to prepare patient, outcomes, treatment, sales, managed markets, and promotion insights.  Use these tailored insights to produce consistent overviews of team, product, and portfolio performance
  • Expert in forecasting and experienced in developing detailed and accurate forecasts for both launch products and on-market pharmaceuticals
  • Participate in weekly meetings to review key updates and continue to understand areas of focus, while proactively providing research grounded insights
  • Serve as point of contact for Analytics vendors
  • Provide weekly reporting on overall performance and market trends as well as analytics that provide insightful and objective commentary
  • Perform ad-hoc queries for leadership across all functions (sales, patient services, marketing, etc.); be an internal expert and resource
  • Generate & manage brand specific dashboards and reporting
  • Define and evaluate needs and solutions in business areas while enhancing services based on customer feedback
  • Partner with market research as well as internal ops teams to create a comprehensive monthly trends and insights report to address the current state of the business
  • Coordinate with data management to ensure insights are based on reliable, high quality information

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of Pharmaceutical Commercial Analytics/Forecasting or Sales Operations
  • Experience in Specialty or Rare Disease, preferred
  • Superior analytical skills with proficiency in a broad range of data analysis and intelligence generation
  • Ability to run statistical analyses, contribute to new analysis methodologies, and engage with Analytics/statistical modeling experts
  • Experience with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IMS, WK, Syndicated data sources)
  • Experience working with CRM data systems like Salesforce, Cognos, Veeva, etc
  • Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Qlikview, Spotfire)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity to keep digging until a clear root cause analysis is completed
  • Ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment maintaining flexibility and changing priorities to meet demanding timelines
  • Strong team player with ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Strong proven leadership, analytical and communication skills required
