Associate Director, Advanced Analytics

The candidate must demonstrate excellent technical and analytical skills coupled with very strong communication.  This individual will be a key liaison for senior leaders of the full breadth of Greer’s product portfolio leading analytics for a wide range of brands within the portfolio reporting directly to the Executive Director of Commercial Strategy.

Key Accountabilities 

•Lead variety of sub-national data analytics & reporting including deep mining of brand performance to determine sources of growth/decline, sample optimization & planning and ad hoc tactical assessment/diagnosis. Responsible for the creation, optimization and retention of custom SAS programs that are designed to address key business questions/needs.

•Conduct advanced statistical procedures on a wide array of data sets (examples include advanced regression analysis on aggregated and disaggregated data models, discrete choice modeling, ANOVA and ANCOVA tests, cluster analysis, factor analysis, and time-series regression).

•Create deep and rich views of market dynamics and underlying trends to fuel robust business planning and unearth significant areas of opportunity and risk

•Develop concise and compelling presentations capturing the key business questions and results; Excellence in both written and verbal communication underpinned by strong business acumen and strategic thinking required. Must have ability to influence without authority and demonstrated track record of delivery and adept management of multiple work streams.

Education & Experience

•Advanced Quantitative degree in one of the following fields: Economics, Operations Research, Statistics, Math or Engineering.

•Demonstrated work experience (min 5years) at least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry.

•Demonstrated expertise (min 5 yrs. work) in ANOVA-ANCOVA, Mixed Models (linear and generalized linear; utilizing fixed and random effects), Advanced Regression Analysis (on aggregated and disaggregated data models), Bayesian Analysis, Categorical Data Analysis, Multivariate Analysis, Cluster Analysis, Nonparametric Analysis, and Optimization & Simulation (with emphasis on probability & statistics).

•Demonstrated experience (min 5 years) designing & executing analyses, as well as delivering insights, related to one or more of the following:

•Promotional Response Analytics / Tactical Assessment / ROI

•Marketing Mix Optimization

•Patient Flow Analytics

•Custom analytics leveraging HCP and APLD data; proficiency with Payer Analytics a strong plus

•Deep knowledge of segmentation techniques, network analysis, influence modeling, data mining and visualization considered a plus.

•Keen understanding of major drivers of product success and Health Care environment

•Knowledge of relevant internal and external data sources.

•Strong working knowledge of MS Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Skills & Abilities 

•Expertise in managing and analyzing a range of large, secondary pharmaceutical databases (Xponent, Plantrak, APLD) required with 5+ years of experience. High level of proficiency in designing & developing custom analytics utilizing these data required as well as demonstrated ability to execute both customized and standardized data processing and analytics in support of: brand performance diagnosis, performance reporting, promotion response modeling, marketing mix optimization, segmentation & targeting, resource allocation across diverse promotional channels and return-on-investment analyses. Superior SAS or equivalent language coding skills a must couple with a proven track record of delivering results under resource constraints. In addition, a high level of consultancy and demonstrated ability to influence both diverse and senior stakeholders on material strategic and tactical decisions is required.
